We specialize in Cosmetic, Restorative, and Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Klostermyer owns and operates Advanced Dentistry of Richmond. She began her dental career as a general dentist. After working as a general dentist for several years, she entered a 3-year dental graduate program to specialize in prosthodontics. A prosthodontist is a specialist in restorative and cosmetic dental procedures.

These include dental implants, fixed and removable dentures, dental crowns, and bridges. Also included are full mouth restorations (a.k.a. full mouth rehabilitations) or single arch restorations. Thus, Advanced Dentistry of Richmond offers both general dentistry and specialized procedures. We are two dental practices in one.

Dr. Clara Bergeron joined Advanced Dentistry of Richmond in 2023. She is a prosthodontist like Dr Klostermyer and is able to take care of all her patients needs. Dr. Bergeron completed her undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary and earned her degree in dentistry from Virginia Commonwealth University

What are a prosthodontist’s education and training?

Note that less than 2% of all dentists are trained, Prosthodontists. This involves years of formal post-graduate dental training. You can learn more about prosthodontists. What we do, and how we are trained: click here – Prosthodontists.

What are our goals and our dental patient’s expectations?

Our goal is to first determine our patient’s dental needs and concerns. Then we will work up and present them with a couple of treatment options. The patient can then decide which option is most suitable for them. Some complex cases involve detailed treatment plans. They can involve other specialists like oral surgeons, orthodontists, periodontists, pedodontists, endodontists, etc.

Our patients expect meticulous, personalized dental care

Our patients expect meticulous, personalized dental care using the best dental laboratories and biomaterials. This systematic process requires time. Yet, it allows us to provide the most advanced prosthetic restorative treatments available.

We provide time and quality care to all dental patients regardless of case size

All dental patients receive the same level of precision, scrutiny, and individualized care. Whether you need a full mouth implant-supported prosthesis, or you simply need a dental cleaning by an expert hygienist. We welcome young families and those with more complex dental needs. Young families with kids represent a growing part of our dental patient population.

Our dental practice business model is based on our five principles of excellence:

  • Detailed treatment plans
  • Quality materials
  • Only the best US dental laboratories used
  • Ample and adequate treatment time
  • If necessary, collaboration with other dental specialists

We attempt to conserve and restore existing teeth where possible. When applicable, we offer the patient different treatment options. This includes considerations of cost, expected outcomes, and longevity. Plus the personal care requirements of each option.

We are not a high patient volume, revenue-driven dental practice

We do not adhere to methods and materials prescribed by dental insurance plans. Each patient has ample time for a thorough quality-driven treatment.

We are a quality-driven dental practice in RVA

This includes taking exact impressions / digital impressions of teeth. We work only with select, detail-oriented dental labs. We develop thorough treatment plans and use the most advanced biomaterials.

Precise cosmetic dentistry & restorative dental details can take time

Dentist and owner, Dr. Klostermyer, focuses on your tooth shape, alignment, opacity, color, symmetry, and natural look. Optimal bite and chewing functions are also of paramount importance. We make every effort in both hygiene and restoration to do our very best job. For areas outside our skill set, we work with a group of allied dental specialists. These include the areas of oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, and orthodontics.

Why is high-quality dentistry an excellent investment?

Your smile prompts a reaction from others. Your conscious or subliminal response to this reaction has consequences. It may have a negative impact on your psyche if you are doubtful about your own appearance and ability to make a positive impression on others. High levels of confidence and self-esteem are essential for social interaction.

Gum disease and tooth decay may cause other diseases. Conversely, other diseases may lead to gum disease and tooth decay.

Our mouths are loaded with a collection of bacteria and viruses. The bacterium Streptococcus mutans, can proliferate in the presence of food residues and cause tooth decay. Gum disease is caused by other bacteria. A high accumulation of diverse viruses and bacteria in your mouth may also be the cause of maladies in other parts of the body. If they enter the circulatory system they can affect the valves of the heart. Dementia is also associated with gingivitis or gum disease. Those patients with pre-existing diseases like rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes are more likely to contract gum disease (Webmd.com).

Oral chewing and speech function is also important

Of course, a proper bite is an essential function of daily living. Thus, healthy teeth and gums can prevent a variety of other diseases and are important for living a long life. Thus, oral health is an investment in your self-esteem, your appearance, your comfort, and your health.

How best to determine which dentist in Richmond VA is right for you?

Considering the importance and cost of dental care you should take the time to assess different providers. Many important decisions are influenced by emotions and facts. Try to avoid irrational, impulsive decisions. First, gather facts. Due diligence requires gathering information from more than one source. Assess the dental practice, its people, the dentist’s qualifications, and other reviews patients leave after their visits. These might help you to determine if Advanced Dentistry of Richmond is the right practice for you.
