  • Prosthodontics is one of 12 dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association. Prosthodontists undergo extensive training in the
  • diagnosis, treatment, and maintenance of complex oral and facial issues. These conditions can arise as a result of tooth decay, tooth wear, gum disease, trauma, congenital scenarios, or through treatment of oral cancer or benign tumors. Prosthodontic treatment can range from a single tooth to a complete oral rehabilitation.
  • Prosthodontics is the only restorative dental specialty dedicated to aesthetics, dental implant restoration, and removable procedures. It also includes training in the treatment of maxillofacial conditions. Note that less than 2% of all dentists are trained Prosthodontists. This involves years of formal post-graduate dental education and training. You can learn more about prosthodontists, what we do, and how we are trained, from the American Dental Association, or the American College of Prosthodontists.
